A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
