'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'powerhouse' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal are now numerous fans' favorites to secure the Premier League during this term.

Look at their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace compared to those same matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are appearing strong to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They lead the league for shutouts (6), shots let in (3), opposition efforts (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Mastery

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but competing clubs still don't know how to contain the Gunners from these chances.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just wary of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Claims

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors aren't faring so well. This marks the initial occasion at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on boss Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the business has so far paid off in style, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and having the strongest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Shutouts in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and analysts have labeled Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and purpose.
