This first look reveals Matt Damon portraying Odysseus. We also see Tom Holland as Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope. The trailer also offers a quick, obscured look at Polyphemus the Cyclops, from whom sheep are are taken by the hero and his men during their arduous journey.
Based upon a cornerstone in classic storytelling, The Odyssey follows the epic journey of the legendary King of Ithaca. After his triumph in the Trojan War, as told in Homer's Iliad, the king faces an extended and hazardous return to his homeland.
Mythical Encounters with an All-Star Cast
On his travels, the hero encounters countless challenges and legendary creatures. This roster features the enchantress Circe, known for turning humans into pigs, as well as the treacherous Sirens. Regardless of these ordeals, Odysseus vows to do whatever it takes to get back to Penelope and Telemachus in Ithaca.
